2- هدف المقرر:
 
 
To demonstrate perfection of specialized professional skills, utilizing the appropriate technological methods, systematic analysis, and communication skills in providing care to women during normal pregnancy, labor and peuriperium.
3- المستهدف من تدريس المقرر :
At the end of this course the student will be able to
                                                                    
أ- المعلومات والمفاهيم:
 
A-1-Discuss the physiological and psychological adaptation during normal pregnancy, labor and peuriperium
A-2- Recognize evidence based pharmacological and non pharmacological measures that affect labor and delivery.
A-3- Describe tools of assessment during pregnancy, labor and peuriperium.
A-4- Identify the principles and techniques when providing systematic, qualified care for woman during pregnancy, labor and peruiperium.
ب- المهارات الذهنية:
 
B-1- Utilize knowledge from nursing and related sciences to identify, prioritize health needs of woman during pregnancy, labor and peruiperium.
B-2- Differentiate between  tools of assessment to collect and interpret data that would benefit in caring of women during the childbearing period.
B-3- Utilize critical thinking to provide innovative evidence based nursing intervention during the childbearing period.
B-4-Design client teaching plan to enhance the levels of wellness.
B-5-Analyze practice and policies used in health care institutions pertaining to the care of women and newborns.    
 
 
ج- المهارات المهنية الخاصة بالمقرر:
C- 1-Diagnose and monitor normal pregnancy, labor and peruiperium using different tools of assessment.
C- 2- Accurately document and report the outcome of nursing and other intervention.
C- 3-Counsel woman about pre and postnatal hygiene.
C- 4- Monitor the progress of labor on the partograph, conduct normal vaginal delivery (at least 30 cases) and manage the four stages of labor
 C- 5- Administer specific medication during labor and delivery.
C- 6- carry out complete assessment and immediate care of the newborn.
C-7-Take decision in the use of episiotomy and perform it when necessary.
C-8-Assist with abnormal delivery, practice intervention according to the condition.
C-9-Perform postpartum examination and provide appropriate intervention.

·        Meeting and priotrize women health needs and design a plan for discharge of childbearing woman
