This course aims to upgrade the student knowledge, skills and attitude to deal effectively, independently and interdependently with woman having common gynecological problems and counsel woman about various family planning methods.

A.2 Acquire knowledge about nursing problem of puberty and menstrual disorders.
A.3 Explain nursing problem of patient with infertility.
A.4 Discuss nursing problem of patient with genital tract infection
A.5 Acquire knowledge about nursing problem of patient with genital tract displacement
A.6 Explain nursing problem of patient with oncology problem
A.7 - Explain the recent advancement in contraceptive technology and birth control methods.
A.8 Discuss tools used for counseling woman about contraceptive methods.

B. Predict risk factors that are associated with common gynecological problems and could be used for patient assessment

B.3Differentiate between the different contraceptive methods, their use, types, advantages, and complications.
B.4 Summarize the tools of counseling that could be used in family planning or during patient education.

C.1 Perform correctly technique of IUD insertion on the model.
C.2 Assess or assist with assessment of women with common gynecological problems.
C.3 Assess or assist with assessment of women in need for various contraceptive methods
C.3 Design and apply nursing care plan for the women with the selected gynecological problems.
C.4 Demonstrate or assist with drug administration for woman with various gynecological problems or who need contraceptives, such as emergency contraceptive pills.
C.4 Practice counseling and health education measures for women with various gynecological problems or woman who is in need for contraceptives according to their conditions.

Unit 2. Common gynecological problems, cultural and psychological impact
· Gynecological assessment
· Genital tract infection
· Genital prolapse
· Fibriods
· Infertility
Unit 3. Family Planning
· Magnitude of the overpopulation problem.
· Different Contraceptive methods: (natural, hormonal, chemical, mechanical and surgical methods).
· Assessment of women for the utilization of contraceptive methods
· Nursing intervention required in using contraceptive methods
· Health education and Counseling concerning the use of contraceptives
